LED chip size common sense:
According to the shape classification, the chips are generally divided into wafers and squares。 Among them, the wafer is relatively low-grade, and the performance is not stable enough。 Our company generally does not use LEDs produced by wafers; squares are generally measured by size, such as 12 mil (1 mil = 0。0254 mm 2 )。 In general, the same brand of chips, the larger the chip size, the higher the brightness。 The most commonly used LED lamp beads, red and yellow are generally 9~12mil, white, blue and green are generally 12~14mil, which is also the most commonly used chip on the market。 If you use a larger chip, Although the brightness can be improved a lot, but the price of the chip is greatly increased, which is why the large size chip is rarely used。
LED color common sense:
The different colors of LEDs are determined by chips of different wavelengths. For example, red light chips generally have a wavelength of 620~630nm (nanometer), green light chips generally have a wavelength of 527nm, and blue light chips have a general wavelength of 470nm. The wavelength is 585nm, and the white LED is also a blue chip, but the white light is emitted by adding an appropriate amount of phosphor to the blue chip.
